B2 visa for wife to accompany me on B1

Hi.. I am travelling to US for about 2-3 months on B1.
I want my wife to accompany me during the trip.

1. Can she appear for B2 visa interview saying she wants to accompany me for the trip? Is this reason suffice?
2. Can we travel together, if she gets Visa?
3. Or is she has to apply for visa specifying she is visiting on of her close friend?
4. How much money I need to show in accounts for sponsoring her?

3. Accompaying you is better. If she is going to visit her friend also, that can be an additional reason.
4. There is no specific amount. But enough amount to take care of the expenses while in the U.S.

Out of the 2 reasons below, which could be the strong or more appropriate reason to justify?
1. My wife is completely dependent on me and hence i have to take her with me during my business visit as she cannot stay alone here.
2. She also has a job in India. She is taking a month off and coming with me to US to visit few places along with me.
