My mother (who is a widow) and sister who is turning 14 this april had an appointment last week. My husband sent the sponsorship for both of them. He is on H1 visa and i'm on H4. Their visa was rejected 214b.
The questions they were asked were:
Why do u want to go to US?
How long do u want to stay there?
What is u'r source of income?
My mom told them that my daughter has been in US for past 3 yrs and that they wanted to come see me.
she told them they'll stay for 2-3 months, in the form they had written 4-6 mths. Officer asked why is different in form. Mom said sister is getting off one month+2 months summer holidays.
Also, about income source she just replied that they are staying with my grandparents, some investments etc.
Officer did not even look at my husband's papers.
Was the rejection due to my sister's age? Or not being able to prove solid financial background? not able to understand. Want to take appointment again but cannot figure out should we take it for both of them again, or spearately or not take for my sister at all??????
If anyone has any suggestions to that!!!!
