My mother in law tourist visa (b2) was recently rejected, the cause is less ties in home country. Here are some highlights.
1. I am currently on H1, wife is on H4 and have not returned to India since last 4 years. I entered USA on L1 and then was converted latter to H1.
2. My MIL visited usa (I sponsored) 3 years earlier and stayed for 10 months (with an approved i-797 extension).
3. She applied for b2 visa, 2.5 years after leaving the usa.
4. VO asked her following Qs in this interview.
i) why do you want to go to usa?
a: tourism and to see my daughter.
ii) what you did last time, (indicating extension of her stay)?
a: visited Washington, California but could not go to New York for health issue. (She told New York because her extension letter says that she would visit New York during that period)
iii) How old is your grand son?
a: 3 yrs.
VO replied that her visa was rejected because she had less ties in India.
I am thinking of reappling after 3 months. Can any one help me on how to strenghthen the case this time? I am considering following alternatives.
a. Whether sponsoring by herself, or, by her son (Police officer in India) would be helpful?
b. Whether visiting other foreign country (like Singapore) would be helpful?
c. Stating specific reason like attending birthday function, specific places like Niagra falls, New york, Washington DC etc. would be helpful?
I appreciate your valuable opinion.
Thanks,
rb
