Regarding online DS-156

Hi,

I filled out an online DS-156 form for my mother but now I realized I have given some incorrect information in that. I want to modify that by filling the form online again. Can I fill up a new online DS-156 form with the same passport number? Will it accept duplicate forms filled for the same person? I think it will give a new barcode. Is that ok?

Will the consulate track both forms and question us as to why we filled two forms? Please confirm this since we dont want this to be a reason for any suspicion and result in any problems with my mother's visa.

i suggest you to better mail the tts service where you applied and find out. that is the best option as they will help you.

Online filling of DS-156 is not really online. It does not get stored or transmitted to consulate. It just generates the barcode on the form that they can scan to retrieve your information.

Fill another DS-156. Should not be any problem.

Thanks a lot for the response. I am in the US and for some reason I thought the administrator would be in India. Thats the reason I posted in the night (EST) and expected a reply by morning (EST) but it turns out the administrator also was in the US.
