Visitor Visa Interview Date

We booked the slot for the interview with another person's detail, but this is the sticky situation:-


I am sponsoring the VISA and a friend of mine booked the slot on my mother's behalf with his details.

Can I use the same slot anyways for the interview or would there be a conflict of information? As in one person's details for the interview slot and then my details as a sponsor?

I guess I am trying to see, If these two things are totally unrelated/independent...as in booking a slot and facing interview with another paperwork

then I guess my mother can use the same slot of interview.

But if both these details are somehow related, then we would have to re book a slot with my contact information.

As any discrepancies in the eyes of the Consular may not look good?

mail the tts services and explain them the problem, guess they will help you.
but booking on one name and going with another name is not good.
immihelp will give you correct answer but this is what i think.

If wht u r sayin is tht the name of the person attending the interveiw wud be different from the name of the person the interview is booked on, it wont work !!

When u go to the consulate, the first thing they see at the gate is the confirmed apptmt reciept. They match the name and passport no from the reciept to the papers the person trying to attend the interview is holding..and then let them in. So obviously a diff name is not gng to help.

Mailing tts visas...well..no harm in trying..but they donot change any information for u as in appointment schedules/details etc. This has been my experience with them atleast. They will advise u to go to the ttsvisas site and make a fresh appointment.

If interview is booked for your mother, in her name and with her passport number, she can attend interview. Does not matter who is sponsoring.

Otherwise, she can't. Appointments are not transferable, otherwise, people will start booking in their names and start selling it for money!

Let me Clear the Confusion!

My mother's name is correctly submitted as the person to be interviewed, but the contact details of the person in the US that is required to get the slot was incorrectly filled as my friend's details.

So, my question is, would this slot still work?

Yes it shud be perfectly okay to attend the interview in this case.

I've never heard of a case whr they check the details in the apptmt confirmation printout ..to the ones in the visa application.

However, if they do qn on it, make sure u mom can explain the details behind it. I dont think it wud be an issue.

So you are saying that the consulate wont have a the details of contact information from TT services?

and even if they do....they don't verify it with visa application contact information? Is that correct?

I've not heard of a case such whr they compare it and qn basically, is wht I meant in my prior post. And even if they qn....ur reason is good enough to satisfy them. Sum1 els booked the slot for ur mom...but it is in ur mom's name right !! And the info whr ur frnd gave his details instead, is only for booking an apptmt, it doesnt' say tht ur frnd is sponsoring ur mom. So..logically I dont think it shud be an issue.

I am not sure if they collect all the apptmt confirmation forms at the door...or just check & give them back. Also, u present the paperwork as and when they ask for in the interview - and not voluntarily, and thr is very less a chance of an interpreter asking for apptmt confirmation reciept and verifying the details....specially after it has already been checked at the gate.

In any case, I wudn't worry abt it reflecting the interview. Just make sure that ur mom is prepared to answer n explain the reasons behind it, if questioned.

Perhaps immi's answer sayin the same wud give you more confidence on the point
