Hi,
I have couple of questions related to travel on tourist visa to USA. All of us are Indian citizen and have a valid B2 (tourist) visa.
We are planning for a trip to USA this summer for a month. The plan is that my kids (11yrs and 4yrs) will accompany their grandmother (maternal) while leaving from India. We (me and my wife) will join them in the US after couple of weeks, the kids will then come back with us after the trip. Their grand mother will not return with us, but after some time.
The questions that I have related to this arrangement are
1. Do I have to give a consent letter for my kids travel, since they are traveling without either of their parents. If so can someone please point me to the a sample letter format. Does it need to be notarized or anything ?
2. Since the travel itinerary will be different for the kids and their grandmother (return dates are different), could this be a potential problem at the port of entry interview (for the I94 card) at the US airport ? Would the officer there be okay with giving the kids a I-94 card for lesser period than the one for the grandmother ?
Also please let me know if there are any other issues/to-do's/not todo's, that I should be aware of, for this kind of arrangement.
Thanks in advance.
