  • My dad got the VISA in 2nd try finally!!!!

    Hello all,

My father finally got his Visa this time after Visa denial last year. Thanks a ton to Immihelp for all your prompt answers and discussions.

    The VO asked :
    1. about his assets. He had mentioned only his property in the work column.(Last year an ignorant travel agent mentioned his old business as his work. Since he has retired form it, the VO only asked about that and denied Visa). Thankfully this time the VO was convinced.
    2. Question was about daughter and son in-law's work.
    3. How long do you plan to stay. My dad gave an honest reply, that we don't stay for long at daughter's place
The VO took the passport and said he'll receive it in courier.Interview was on 21st March and passport reached on 23rd. He got 10 yr visa. Phew!!

Thanks again immihelp. All the best to the others, just pray and be honest and confident.

    Dees,

    congratulations first of all.

My parents visa was rejected at bombay.

my dad is also retired and thats one of the reason I am thinking of denial of visa. my mom is still working though...

what can I do to get a visa for my parents? they applied for b2.

    Thanks.

When parents are retired that poses the biggest hurdle. It's strange since your mom is working.

Is there any property etc. that you can show? I am sure your mom had her letter from her work. May be next time you can just try for your mom or either parent first. When there is another spouse in India, that should convince the VO.

The officers hardly look at the documents. What they focus on is the visa application. Particularly the 'work' column.
The last time my father's Visa got denied, we had mentioned his old business from which he had retired in the work column. The VO ONLY asked about the old business.

This time we mentioned only the property details, again VO only asked about that, got convinced and gave Visa. He still didn't look at the property papers, though my father took them out.
Also, I feel it matters as to how you portray your case. For my dad we did not just write property but wrote 'Rental property' which is true since he rents it out. But that shows how independent the applicant is and that he has responsibilities in India.

All the best, wait for a few months and then try again. Keep praying and tell your parents to be confident and not get nervous. All the best.
