7th year extension petition for interview date confirmation

My 6-yr visa is expiring in September 2005 and would like to call my parents in August 2005. I have a labor pending for 2 yrs and my 7th yr petition has not yet filed. My lawyer says that it would take another 10-15 days for me to get the 7th year extension petition. The current appointment date at the Mumbai consulate is mid July 2005 and I would like my parents to get an appointment of end-July 2005. I plan to confirm the appointment on the website by March end in order to get the end-July interview period.

My question is do I need to send the 7th year extension petition as part of the documents to be sent to get the confirmation for the interview date OR can my parents carry the 7th yr petition when they apply at the Mumbai consulate in end-July 2005.
