  • Visitor Visa Approved for Parents on March 28

    Hi,

First i would like thank Immihelp for putting up this informative forum.

My parents Visa were approved on march 28 at chennai consulate. We still dont know the duration of the visa since my dad forgot to ask and they said passport will come in 2 days form TTS.

They had an early morning appointment at 8.00 am. According to my dad there were only two counter open..one with a 40 yrs old man and another with a young guy. My parents went to the 40 yr..guy...He asked many questions but didnt look at even one document...not even my affidavit of supports. My dad said they away the whole thinh went....it looked like he had already decided from the application details he dad...

He asked abt 6 or 7 questions to my dad like and a couple of questions to my mom. Then he asked them to pay the visa fees in the counter.

Early morning appointments always helps....i guess.
My dad will be putting down his experience with full details once he gets his passport.

    Thanks.

      Request

      Hello bkarthik,

I am a student (F-1) here at Chicago, IL, USA. I am inviting my parents and sister to my MS (Master of Science) graduation ceremony on May 14. I was really worried about the questions they may be asked at the PI counters at New Delhi, Embassy.

I would like to request if you could tell me what questions your parents were asked, how much expenses per person you think or your dad thinks is ok to show as liquid in bank (cash), which embassy ur parents went to...or anything else that may help. I am ready with almost all the documents. Both parents are govt employee and sister is currently studying in II yr Bcom (hons). They will go back to India after couple of months.

I really appreciate every bit of information you may provide. Thanks.
