  • Important Immihelp, Divya, srikar Employment Verification

my husband is sponsoring my mom to visit USA? my mom is a widow and she is working as a govt employee on compassionate grounds and she can get at the maximum of 90 days only as holiday.
Should we mention as three months or 90 days in the invitation letter to the consulate?

    2. Also should we mention the exact date of travel on the DS-156 , invitation letters etc????

    3. Should she get a employment verification letter apart from her salary slip, appointment order and promotion letters????

    4. Also should she get a property letter from CA showing certain amount of property even though she is employed ????

    5. Should my mom carry the pension papers of my father also???

    6. She does not come under the Income Tax bracket in India as it is not a great salary, so is that a negative point incase she is showing the houses that she owns even though she has house tax receipts?????

Please reply as it is very very urgent.

Doesnt' really matter whether u mention it in months or days. Months is probably easy to remember. Just know though tht u shud stick to wht u write in ur application, as in if the interviewer asks how many days ur mom wants to stay here....she must mention wht she wrote in the application.

If u know the exact date of travel, u can mention it, otherwise a tentative date can be given in the application. It is not necessary to mention the date in the invitation letter...but perhaps u can mention it as this summer etc, if u plan on bringing her this yr or so.

An NOC will act as an employement verification letter as well. Usually it clearly states the designation of the person on whose behalf the NOC has been issued. In an otherwise case, I guess, u can carry an employement verification letter.

I donot know the property letter from a CA guy is a must!! But....I 've heard of cases whr it was helpful. Perhaps it wont hurt carryin' one.

Ur mom is still in Govt service, so I dont' c them asking for a pension proof of ur father. But, given the fact tht the consulate can ask just abt anything they like, I wud leave that upto u. Another paper in the pile shudn't hurt again I guess.

Hm....income tax part and houses she owns....well....logically just becoz she aint making a great salary, it doesnt mean tht she cannot own properties right !! She can always mention tht it is ur father who earned those during his tenure, or she inherited it from her ancestors...or whtever the case. Just mention how she acquired those in a fair manner.

Always remember though tht the answers ur mom gives to the consulate must be convincing and as close to the paperwork she is taking with her, as possible.

Apeksha, all of these answers are things tht u were supposed to decide from ur shoes. Guidelines are always on general scales. It is left to the individuals to decide on how they wud want' to percieve & proceed. I wrote the above for u, assuming wht I wud do, if I were at ur end. Tht is the reason why Immi just posted the link for u.

Best of Luck on ur mom's interview !! *~*

If u still have time to correct it, go ahead. But otherwise also, I dont c a big issue with it, as she still is in the Assistant position. If asked at the interview on details of her job, like 'wht assistant' ...then she can always answer in detail.

Again, convincing the consulate is the key. Be confident, upto point & keep the body language positive.

Even if u made an error somewhr in the application...as this one, when questioned, you must be in a position to explain it convincingly, keeping it short. That is the key.
