Parents appreared for interview, but didn't get the passport after 8 days.

My parents appreared for interview on 3/31, after officer asked few questions, the office told them that they will receive their passports with in a week. My mother did received her passport in 5 days with VISA stamp but my father didn't get his passport yet. Even VFS hasn't received his passport for delivery.

When we tracked the passport, the message says 'Your Passport is under process at U.S Embassy/Consulate if your Visa has been approved.'

I thought my parents will get the password with in 1 week (working days). Can someone interpret passport track message and also anyone have similar experience and what steps followed/to be follow.

Haven't received the passports until now from US consulate, it is been about 14 days since they have attended the interview. Any info. is helpful.
