Return ticket date?

My dad would be visiting USA for the 1st time and I'll be accompanying him. He has a multiple entry visa. I have already purchased his return tickets after 6 months (assuming he gets 6 months stay). His return ticket is 3 days before the expiry of official 180 days.

Since I have booked his tickets assuming the 6 month stay and so close to the expiry of 6 month visit, will this pose any hurdle at POE? Can this affect him getting 6 month stay? Also, I'll be with him at the immigration counter (since I'll be travelling with him). I hope the POE won't be suspicious of any plans to overstay etc.

Most inspection officers go by 6 months and not by 180 days.
So if you arrive on say Jan 10, your I-94 can be max up to Jun 9.
