  • Visitor visa - what gets stamped

    Hello,
I am slightly confused when I read through the internet. I see references of people talking about B1/B2 stamped on the passport. Possibly it's my misunderstanding. But, please advise what would be stamped on the passport if I were to apply for a visitor visa only(ie. will just B2 be stamped on the passport).

    Thank You.

    B1/B2.

Not much difference between the two as with both categories Employment is strictly prohibited.

      Thanks for responding.

If initially I get a visitor visa for touring purposes, then, later on, if I want to go to the US for business reasons, do I have to apply for a B1 Visa separately even though on the passport it will say B1/B2 when I initially apply for visitor visa?

Yes. If going on Tourism, state B2, you will get B1/B2

If on business , state B1, and you will still get B1/ B2
