Hi,
My cousin has been in the US on a visitor visa and she would like to stay for a total of 7 months. We have to apply for an extension so she can stay the extra month. At the end of her stay, she'd like to travel to California to a family wedding & to visit there. So, it is impotant to be able to make travel plans well in advance of the event. If we send in the paperwork now (she has been here one month only) will they reject the application? Do we have better odds of approval if we apply closer to the end of her stay? I am afraid they could say she could leave and come back later for the event or find some other stupid reason to deny this extension.
Also, if they approve the extension will they approve for 6 month or just the one month she will say she needs?
Thanks for any advice!
