  • Can I sponser to my sister's child??????

    HI All,

I am sponsering my parents, and they want to bring their grandson(my sisters son,who is 1 year old). Both my sister and brother in law are in India. Both are working.

Me and my Husband both are working on EAD status(Pending I485).

My dad works for government office(he has around 8 years to retire). My mom is house wife.

Sponsering my parents is not a problem.

My question is can we(myself and my husband) sponser for my sister's son(who is 1 year old)???

If yes what are the additional documents required other than the normal visitor visa documents?

    Suggesions Please..

    Boom.

    some info

    VO might want to know:

    - Why your parents want to take the kid along ? So have a strong case there...he is too young to just say "tourism".
    - No Objection Certificate/Affidavit from kid's parents - that they have no objection to the kid travelling with your parents...Consulate needs this even if one parent is travelling...so this is a must.
    - Work related docs of your sis and bil will help, i suppose.

most important is # 1 above.

      Thank you ADvxy,

WHy do they want to take this kid?
Can they answer like : Because parents of kid are working ,and they don't want to send their kid to baby day care or someone else baby sit.
so They have opted to send their kid ,along with kid's grand parents.

      Any Suggesion on this?

      Thanks,
      Boom.

          You can try...

          Hey boom,

You can try that reason...it all depends...

          Anticipate questions such as:
          - Will he stay without his parents for so long?
          - Do you regularly take care of him ?
          - Arent there any other relatives who can take care of him here
          - Can the parents not take leave?
          etc etc.

          Best of luck...
