Visitor VISA - Can I apply for my scenario? -- Admin please help
Hi guys,
Need your help. I am in a real fix here.
Background: I went to US as student on F1 visa. Graduated and worked in US as Programmer Analyst (Contractor). Have been in US for almost 7 years.
I came to India on vacation on Sept 30, 2011. Had to get VISA stamped. US embassy gave me a shock by handing over 221(g). I did not have a good feeling about this as my petition had only 5 months left (Major mistake on my part).
No doubt, I was denied H1B. The headache is my stuff + Documents + Car is still in US and I am worried about those. I still am not able to sell the car as the friend it was with is also in India under 221(g). I desperatly need to go back for short period to bring my critical stuff back and sell the car. I suppose two weeks are sufficient to get this done.
I do not have much help from anybody in US. I am currently married (5 months) and work for Cognizant Bangalore and draw a handsome salary and have no plans to go back to US to start from scratch.
1) Can I apply for visitor visa?
2) Will visa officer understand my pain and grant me a visa for two weeks?
3) What should be my explanation for reason of wanting the visa (I want to be very honest with them. Do not want to make up any stories).
4) I have a distant relative who is US citizen, should I request him to become my sponsor?
5) Will H1B denial affect my application for Visitor visa?
