visitor's affidavit necessary??

Hi i want to apply for visitor's visa, i made cover letter and employment letter. But do i need to make an affidavit enclosing the reasons i will come back to india? Or is it not necessary. Please reply soon as my interview is after 8days. I am still preparing my documents.
