  • B2 Visa - Question about legal status in DS-156 form

    Hello everyone,

My in-laws have B2 visa appt. at the Chennai consulate on April 26th. I have been here in the U.S for 6 years. My H1 expired in Dec 2004, I have applied for 7th year extension. I have also applied for green card. My I-485 is still pending. In such case, what legal status I should put in the DS-156 form ?. Which one is better ? H1B or I-485 applicant ?. I know, either way, I need to show them a proof. I thought I-485 applicant will be better because I have the receipt notfice for that. If I put H1B, I don't have a valid visa, all I can show is the expired visa and the receipt notice for 7th year extension.

    Please help.

    Thank you.

Should I write AOS pending or just AOS

      Hi,

I am in the same situation. In DS-156, should I write "Adjustment of Status (AOS)" or is it "Adjustment Of Status Pending"

Is it worthwhile to give I-485 recept no. as well?

      Thanks
