Tourist Visa/US Petition

Hi everyone! Maybe somebody could give me an insight on this.

I'm planning to visit my sister in the us, my first time so I will be acquiring a tourist Visa for sure. My question is does these processes could contribute something helpful to my existing "Approved US Petition"? By the way, my petition was approved July of 2007.

However, if you have approved immigration petition, you are very less likely to get visitors visa.

Oh my? Why is that?
Actually my visit in the us is a company sponsor and I was thinking that if I ever could get the visa it could accelerate the processing time of my petition?
