Visitor Visa - Letter missing in surname

Hi,

My brother is sponsoring visitor visa for parents, in my father passport surname is missing an alphabet, in my mother,brother n my passports it is fine. will it be any problem with surname mismatch? should he carry any document or affidavit to show the correct surname. please give suggestions.
