need urgent advice

hello, my parents are applying for visitor visa to usa.my mom's name in my passport is spelled incorrectly(urmila),while her correct name is urmil.her passport has the correct name.can this be a problem in getting a visitor visa to usa?i cannot correct her name in my passport till i go to india.kindly reply asap if you would know about this.
