Student visa denied

Hi Everyone,

I was visiting U.S in the year 2000 on a tourist visa and there i took admission in a Community College and completed 2 full time semester in the meantime the college applied for my student visa with the Govt. Due to the 9.11 attack a lot of student visas were denied and I too suffered with the same.. Instead of pleading again for a recheck of my application I chose to come back to India in 2002 JAN.
Now on 27 years old Married, I want to apply for a tourist visa with my husband to visit U.S for couple of weeks, Would my past record create a hindrance in getting a tourist visa now....

You weren't supposed to attend a college on a tourist visa. Tourist visa is issued for tourism purposes only. I've a feeling that your student visa was denied 'cause you came here on a tourist visa and then started school. Student visa is issued for studies' purposes only and is totally different than the tourist visa. Your visa was denied in 02 'cause of the fraud you were involved in, not because of 9-11 attacks.
