I read in one of the threads that even though I prepare the form for my parents, it is ok to say they filled it. Is this true, or do I have to give my details?

yes it is not necessary for you to fill your details there. you can fill it up and show as though yr parents filled up themselves.
btw did you get an earlier date? i remember you were trying for an earlier date.
