2 visits in one year

Hello,

My mother has a 10 yr multiple entry visa. She is planning a visit to the US in May 2005 for a month. She will need to visit again in November 2005 for 6 months. Does anyone know of any cases where the second visit duration (I-94 stamp) was shortened due to a visit earlier in the same year?

While there is no rule that prohibits her from doing that, also remember that tourist visa is for tourism purposes.

If she tries to spend most of her time in US, that is not true purpose of tourist. And it is possible that she may be given shorter duration during her next entry, may be denied entry altogether. It is quite subjective and depends upon the immigration officer at port of entry.
