Medical Insurance/Thanks Immihelp!

I used Immihelp for the Visitor Visa processing for all my paperwork and

MY MOTHER GOT THE VISA!!!!!!

I think this a great website and they did a very prompt and good job answering my quieries!

My next question is.... when should I purchase medical insurance.
Her tickets are booked for the 24th of April. Should she have the medical insurnace with her when she arrives?

What documents do they check for at the port of entry?

It is not mandatory to have medical insurance card/documents before she arrives into US, as it is not the requirement to enter the country.

However, it is recommended that you buy the insurance before she arrives so that she is covered during the travel time as well. Put effective date one day in advance compared to actual date she is traveling because flights leave early in the morning from India which is still previous day in US, and most of the coverages start at 12.01 AM Indianapolis time (which is same as Central time in summer.)
