Parents Visitor Visa rejected

Hi

My parents visa got rejected today
I actually went through well know consultancy in Mumbaii to prepare all documents for them and prepare them for interview

However their Visa got rejected
Following were the question asked to my dad

1. Why do you want to go
Ans: To visit my daughter and son-inlaw

2. what does your daughter do
Ans: Study at ABC university

3. Show me your incometax returns
Ans: I am retired since 2004 and dont have returns

Then VO questioned my mom

1. What do you do
Ans : I am a house wife and part time work as ICIC indurance advisor

Sorry you are incapable of obtaining visa

I would highly appreciate if i could get some advice as to what went wrong and when should I ask them to reapply and what changes

I was just wondering that does my dad being retired and not having IT returns was the reason for rejection
