B1 Visa enquiry

Hi,

My mother had an visa appointmentyesterday. She had a visa stamping for 10 years and she lost her passport. She visited US in 2009 and returned back within 6 months. We wanted her to come back and re applied for Visa as she lot her passport. In visa interview yesterday at Hyderabad,they asked her the proof of timely return within six months. They asked us to give this proof and new passport at VFS office and she will get her visa. We dont have any proof except for the electronic ticket as she lost her passport. What proof the consulate people are expecting and what needs to be given to them ?

Return ticket, boarding passes (if available), credit card/bank transactions in home country after returning will help. Did she not submit her I-94 when she returned?

Yes she returned the I-94 at port of exit at Los Angeles. She has boarding pass. She doesnt have any bank transactions during that month. However, we have electronic copies of some train travels in that month. We enquired at VFS office about the expected proof, they also could nt give us any info. But they told that if we dont furnish the expected proofs, they may reject the Visa.

Is there any possibility that we can get a letter from Immigration department at Airport, at Port of entry at Hyderabad? Will they preserve our documents ?

You can try, but I think what she has above will work just fine. Boarding pass is very useful. Add a cover letter explaining each document and how it proves that she was outside the US on those dates.
