Parents Need visit to US on Feb but VISA expires on JAN Please advice how to apporach

My parents need to visit to US on Feb 2011 and stay for 3 months, but there existing VISA is getting expired on Jan 2011. Please advice how to apporach for a VISA extension.

They can apply for their Visa just like they did before.
Otherwise they can travel in Jan before their Visas expire and request 3 or 4 months stay at POE. This will depend on how frequently they have traveled to the US before.

First thanks for your reply.

If they apply for New VISA now, in US embassy they might ask "why don't you travel right now instead of Feb 2011" right?

My Mother traveled to US once and stayed for 6 months and My Father travelled to US twices and Stayed for 3 months and 5 days respectively.

On the second thought, if they travel in Jan 2011 in port of entry they will ask you have VISA for only 15 days or something, Am I right? Is this might be a risk?
