visitor visa extension for dad !!

Dear Everyone,

My dad is presently visiting me in canada. I am thinking for applying for extension for his visitor visa. But there is a question in the Form "Does anybody in your family has ever been charged or convicted in any country?". Actually, I have been charged with a false minor offence and I am waiting for my trial (later this year) to prove my innocence.
Is it ok to apply for his extension or it is better for him to go back and visit me after 2 months. Please advice.

Can he go back to India and visit me after 2 months after staying here for 6 months? Do you think the Canadian border will allow him Please advice .
