  • Tips for the port of entry

    Hello,
My parents got their tourist visa last july,10. Its for a period of 10 years. Till today they have not been to the US even once. I their daughter (H4 visa holder, presently staying in INDIA) have plans about going back to the US this september. My husband (H1B holder, present in US) had sponsored for their visa. So can I take my parents along with me to the US this september? Will their be any issues of not being to the US so long from the time they got their visa? My parents know only native languages. If the POE officer asks them any questions can I answer to it? or do I need to give a letter stating that they dont know english? or their sponsor my husband give a letter to the POE officer on their behalf? PLease do help regarding the above issue.

Your parents can travel to USA any time from the date of issue of visa to the end date. Since, you plan to accompany them, I do not think there will be any problem. In case, they had to travel without you, I would suggest you addressing a letter to immigration Officer at POE about their language problem and suggest why they want to come to USA and how long will they be staying and with whom will they be staying.
    This will do.
Some times the IO takes the help of the person standing next in line in case if he does not understand what the person being interviewed says.
    Good luck.

      --Absolutely
Will their be any issues of not being to the US so long from the time they got their visa?
      -- None at all

-- You can translate for them if you are traveling together.
or their sponsor my husband give a letter to the POE officer on their behalf?
-- No such thing as sponsor, all your husband is doing is paying for their trip.
PLease do help regarding the above issue.
      See above.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
