B2 visa for parents if Dad has a cancer

Hi,

I would like my parents to come to the US on visitor visa. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer and he is doing his treatment at home. He is planning to say at the embassy that he can come to the US for no more than 4 weeks because he will need to come back for the next round ot treatment at home. I need an advice if the officer can reject a visa if Dad has a cancer.

Cancer should not be a reason for denial since it is not a communicable disease. There is however no reason to mention it unless specifically asked.

I would not recommend that he come to the U.S. at all during his treatment.

Apart from the scheduled treatment, he may need any sudden treatment at any time and it can be very expensive and no insurance will cover it.

There are simply too many complications possible and it is not worth the risk.

The reason I were planning my Dad to mention that because it will prove to the officer that he will definitely come back home to continue his treatment.
In this case it prove his ties to the country.

That does not improve ties to the home country. That increases the possibility that your dad will be burden on the U.S. And that would reduce the chances of getting visa.

My earlier advice was exactly from the visa perspective, but in general.
