In-laws passport: City name is misspelled .

in my father in-laws passport there are two spelling mistakes made by regional passport office.
1) City name is misspelled .
2) Father in-laws mothers name is misspelled.
I have a situations where in I need my in-laws to visit us as soon as possible. Will it be a good idea to go head and attend a for B1/B2 Visa interview. Will this have any effect on there visa.
