Hi All,
My parents tried multiple times to get visitor visa in New Delhi but got denied. Finally (fourth time) my father had got but not my step mother. My mother died and then my father married to my step mother who has a son (my step brother) as well. My step brother is studying and not even trying to come/visit me in US.
FYI-I live in Us with my husband and kids. Both of us are on H1B. My kids are citizens.
Here is the story with visa interviews-
My parents (my father and my step mother) got denied for visitor visa for 2 times. We dont know what could be the reason as the embassy never discloses that. We have different assumptions regarding the denials but no solid evidence. Third time, i asked them to go separately thinking that might make any difference but unfortunately they got denied separately third time as well. This all happened within one year.
Then we thought that may be they should wait for sometime and then try again. Now they both agian went separately and fortunately my father got approval but again my step mother didnt get one. Not sure what is the reason but here is assumption- she was sked "who lives in US" and she replied "my daughter" and not step daughter. Another assumption- she was asked to provide a copy of my visa and she provided the passport copy which shows that she is not prepared. My step mother mentioned that consulate officer browsed through passport copy and denied which means two things- first he might have noticed my mother's name in my passport copy and thought it was a fraud case. secondly, i recently got renewal of H1b which is not stamped in my passport copy and he might have thought that i am illegal here but he didnt ask for new i-797.
Please guide how can i get b2 for my step mother. i really want my parents to come together to visit me.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks much!
Sneha
