Valid I-94, with US Baby

My wife and I was traveling to US to buy things to our baby, my wife was pregnant of 30 weeks.
She had a pregnancy problem and had to delivery the baby with 33 weeks.
It made impossible to get back to our country, until the baby get 3 to 4 months age to fly.
The problem is my I-94 will expire, and I don’t want to be illegal here, and also the baby can’t fly until the age.
What are my options?

Why can't baby fly until 3-4 months of age? Will the baby be in hospital until then?
