Question regd Transit Visa in Frankfurt

Hi
i went through the discussion forum regd the transit visa in germany. Somebody who travelled recently can you please share your experience.
some people say u dont need any visa as long as you have a valid USA visa.
Is it true. Can you please confirm.
My parents are travelling next week. Thank-You
