Hi, I want to apply for a US Visa appointment. I am from Iran.

A friend of mine told me this:

“Ask people in your city what might give the best opportunities to have a visa for the USA a.s.a.p. either: Dubai, Jordan, Turkey ... just be advised by their experiences of this year. It differs over time.”

I want to participate in an educational program in US, and have the invitation document, written confirmation for the program.

I thought I would know your ideas about that here as well.

Sorry I didn’t explain. I have the invitation document, written confirmation for the program I want to participate in USA.
It’s a short term program.
Now I want to get appointment to get visa. I really don’t know what visa I will get. I think mine falls under the category of Visitor Visa, Tourist Visa.
Because what I have is invitation document, written confirmation for the program. It’s not Form I-20.

You can apply at any US embassy/consulate. No one is better than others.
I am not sure if Visitor Visa is right for you, depending on the nature of this educational program you may need to apply for J1 Exchange visitor visa.
