income tax queries :urgent

hello all,
i'm a young doctor scheduled for a research paper presentation in a conference in us in may. since i'm in employment only since february '04 hence didn't have the opportunity of filing income tax return. although i'd been deducted of tax in november. kindly let me know will the payslip suffice ? i'll be getting form 16 after 15 th may only but my interview is in early may.
what are the alternatives??? for showing accountability of income tax??

Is it possible to get Form 16 before your interview? Check with your employer.

Otherwise, paystubs should be fine. You can explain the situation to consular officer if asked.

unfortunately my interview is in first week may and form 16 won't be available before 15 th may. but i'm trying to get the certificate from the empoyer regarding the income and deductions in last financial year?

That should be fine. However, it finally depends upon consular officer.
