I'll keep this I-539 question brief (I tried to find related material on the forum archives):
1. Do we need to extend a six month ticket to a one year ticket at a cost of $360 to show the return ticket for the end date of the requested extension?
2. Related to 1.), has anyone ever heard of an I-539 form being processed in less than 45 days? We live near the California Service Center, but I'm sure that they have an awesome workload. As I understand it, typical processing times are around 2.5 months. If that is the case, then we need to extend the ticket anyway. Otherwise, if our application was denied within a month, for example, then we lost a lot of money (I understand that life is a gamble, though). However, I would assume that taking an overly conservative approach and NOT extending the ticket would guarantee that the application would be denied anyway.
Hopefully, this is a simple question for someone here. Thank you in advance.
