I am sponsoring my parents to visit USA. My parents live in India. We are from a middle class family in India. In their self affidavit, they will be showing their house and bank balance in India. My father gets his pension in India. My mother is a house wife. As for as bank balance, can they show Rs 10L or would that raise any tax question?.

What do you mean can they show X amount? They can only show what they really have, have legally acquired and have paid proper income tax on that.
Are they trying to borrow money temporarily from someone to show higher balance? If so, don't do that.
