My Aunt is estranged with her daughter who is on H1B Visa with her daughters & husband. I tried to sponsor my Aunt but her tourist visa was recently rejected. She did not put her daughter's name in the application. Now we want her to apply again and update the information in her application with her daughter's name. Will this affect her chances? She lied in her application by not indicating her daughter's name and we want to correct this now. She has money in the bank and she can support her trip. Should she apply on her own w/o my support? I am a US Citizen with a good job. She is my mother's step-sister. (We have a complicated family tree) Please give me some advise on which direction we should go. Thanking you in advance.

There are at least 3 places where the form asks about people in US.
    1. Contact person in US
    2. Who will pay for your trip? (This does not have to be a US person)
    3. Close relatives in US.

1, 2 can be anybody. But if daughter was not mentioned in 3 and was discovered, that can be a problem. She should mention everything truthfully depending on the question and answer about not having contact with daughter if asked.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
