Child Birth Certificate for Parents B2 visa

Hi,
I read on Immihelp that for Parents B2 visa, child's birth certificate is required. I want to aply for my parents visa but I do not have my birth certificate, is it a mandatory document that needs to be present for my Parents B2 visa. Is there any alternative document which can be showed instead of BC.

Even VFS mentions this document. But I have not heard of anybody being asked for it. They can show school certificate, passport or any other proof if asked.
But apart from that, it will be better to get one soon. You need it for other things.
