mom is visiting US and dad is not... but both of them are atten'g visa intw help

Hi,

we are planning to have both of my parents attending visa interview (B2) since that would make easy for them to get their approval. Once the visa is approved is it ok that only my mom alone comes to US without my father. Also, whether there is going to be a problem for my dad if he intends to travel to US in the future(since that would be like 2 yrs from now) I'm so confused... Any answer would be much helpful.

If he intends to travel only two years from now, why is he going for visa interview now?

Since everybody suggested that it would be easy for the visa approval if both of the parents attend the interview at same time rather than a single parent
