  • 2-month interval between consecutive visits on B-2

    Hello.

My mother-in-law recently visited my wife and me in the US between June-October 2011. However, due to family health emergencies for me in India, we would like her to come back here and spend about 3 months from January-March 2012 (to be with my wife and baby, so that I can travel to India as required).

I understand this is just a 2+-month interval between consecutive visits, and may not be ideal. However, given our family situation, will this be permissible? If so, is there specific documentation we need to have in place, or particular ways in which my mother-in-law should handle the questions at the port-of-entry immigration?

We would greatly appreciate your help with this issue. We are quite unclear on what we should do, and look forward to your advice and guidance.

Thank you very much as always.

    Regards
    Vasanth

There is really no way to know. It all depends upon the immigration officer at the port of entry.
