Surname and Given Name got interchanged in passport

Hi,

Recently my mother law and father in law applied passport in chennai by tatkkal scheme and got the passport last friday. While checking the passport, we found that in my father - in - law passport, his surname and given name has been interchanged.

SurName : aba
GivenName: ccc

But in passport, the above was changed to

SurName : ccc
GivenName: aba.

can someone help me how to correct this name interchange. what all procedure should I follow.

Or, Can I fill I-134 and DS 160 with the names as in pasport and apply for visitor visa??

Any problem will arise?? Help me please....

He should contact the passport to get this fixed.

I don't recommend applying for US visa until that is fixed as the problems will only multiply with time.
