I wonder to know if I change my current B2 visa status in H1B in the USA, will I be able to reenter the country? I mean my tourist visa was issued in Russia and now me and my attorneys are applying for H1B here, in the US. But I am not sure that if I change my status in the US, I will be able to reenter the USA in case if I wanted to go home. Is it true? Do I need to come back to Russia and change my status from there?

Visa status and visa stamp are two different things.
Visa status is used to live in the U.S. on a particular status.
Visa stamp is used only to enter the U.S. Therefore, even if you get the change of status to H1 while in the U.S., in case you travel back to Russia, you will need H1B visa stamp before reentering the U.S.Immihelp Support
