Spouse name incorrect in my Father's passport

Hi,

I am trying to get visitor visa for my mother and father. My mother's passport has all the details correctly as in my passport but my Father's passport has incorrect spouse name. That is, in my father's passport, my mother name is printed as Jothiammal and it should be just Jothi.

1. Will this create problem when they go for visa interview?
2. if this will create problem, how can I ask them to proceed with the change? Should my father get a new passport with name change or get an affidavit/observation in the passport?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi, Thanks for the reply.

After getting the affidavit, should my father go to the passport office to have it included in the passport? or just take it with him during the visa interview? If he has to go to the office, how much time it will take for him to get his passport?
