Mother In Law has two names

Hi

We would like to sponsor Visiting visa to our In laws. But my mother in law has two names. And the First name on her passport do not match with the First name on my husband's passport . With this problem, can we go ahead and make US VISA appointment ? or Do we need to apply for Passport name change ?

Any help/advise is appreciated.
