  • Visitor visa rejections of Parents and in-laws

    Hello Everybody,

Today was visa interview of my in-laws at Mumbai consulate and unfortunately it got rejected . I had applied for my father's visa 8 months back and his visa also got rejected.

Both the times Visa Officers never asked for any documents before rejecting. They almost asked same set of questions to my father and my in-laws as in,
    a) What they do ?
    b) What company I work for.
    c) Whats my company name.

For my father I thought that as he went alone (my mom's no more) and he is retired they rejected , but in case of my in-laws I don't see any reason for them to reject. My mother-in-law is still working and has around 5 years of service left and my father-in-law just retired, but he has business which he is running from many years.

I am really confused what might be the reason. I was planning to send my father again next week as its been 8 months since his rejection , but now i am scared.

I really don't know what needs to be done for them to get visa. If they ask for some documents and we are not able to produce , then one can understand , but here they just ask 3-4 questions and reject the visa .. its really difficult to understand. And if you know the reason for rejection you can work on it.. in our case we really don't know what is the reason....

Can anybody please help , as in what can i do differently , or if i am doing something wrong for them to get visa rejected without even asking for any documentation.

    Thanks
    Kamlesh

Is there anything doubtful about the company you work for? Their reputation etc?

      Hi,
my in-laws case is similar, b2 was rejected few months back. may i know the following:

      -What's your visa status?
-when does your I-94 expire ?
      - was copy of i-94 given along with copies of PP ?
-what was the letter/form number the officer gave to your in-laws as a reason for denial?
-what language was the denial letter written in (other than English)?
-is your in-laws last name "patel"?

I am on EAD (485 pending) and we had not provided copy of i-94 along with copies of PP, officer reviewed my wife's PP copies during interview.

My in-laws are Marathi and had Marathi translator but the denial letter they got was in Gujrathi (and other side was in Eng). since their last name is "Patil" i am guessing officer thought they are "Patel" and that could have affected the outcome, just a guess.
