Reasons for extending visiting visa

Hi,

I am planning to extend visiting visa for my father so that he can be here for my lil ones bday party . Discussing with couple of my friends it seems b'day part is not a valid reason that USCIS will agree. Can someone please let me know valid reasons that i can provide to USCIS for extending stay in US?

Various reasons for which the visa extension got approved for you guys.
