  • Change in Address after in-laws' Visitor Visa got approved

    Hello,

My in-laws are visting us from India. They applied for their visitor visa at Kolkata and were approved. I am sponsoring them from USA and I am on an H1B visa here. This website has helped me a lot and I had actually prepared all the necessary documents as per instructions provided here. The visa approval process was smooth. No problems whatsoever.

However, my address has changed AFTER their visa got approved. Consequently, the address mentioned in the Affidavit of Support form (I-134) is my old address. All the bank statements and documents that I had sent has the old address.

I know my in-laws will have to fill out the I-94 card before landing in USA. What address should they write over there? My new one or the old one. Also, do I need to send any documents to them that indicate my address change? Do you think this could be a problem for them?

FYI: My in-laws intend staying with us in USA for 3 months (June-September)and have even got their return tickets. Request your help.

I think it's nothing to worry about. And they should write your new address in I-94. And no documentation is needed about it.

I was just wondering if the officials at the port of entry find a discrepency in the address in the documents (bank statements) and I-134 with what my in-laws write on the I-94 card (if they write the new address), could it impact their duration of stay or even entry to USA.

Also, do my in-laws need to justify why they want to stay for 3 months? How do they do that? Any documents need to be provided to establish this? Will having the return ticket (date: after 3 months) help? They have the return ticket already.

        do not worry

This is not an issue at all. They should just write the new address.
